Cheap Eats: Over 70 Places to Get Food Under $10 in New York City

We've done extensive research to find you the cheapest eats in New York City. 

Every meal option below has an option for good filling food under $10, which means a lot when the average burger in the city runs over $20. 

Please check with locations as prices/hours can change, & keep in mind most places are going to be cash only.

Shu Jiao Fu Zhou: The pork & chive dumplings & rice noodles with peanut butter sauce are only $3, & there's a lot more.

Empanada Mama: Many empanada options for under $5 & a traditional Colombian breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, scallions, rice, red beans, & fried arepa for $5.95.

El Jeffe Park: $5 tacos. $3 on Tuesdays.

Ethyl's Alcohol & Food: $5 burgers & $2 cheesy fries during happy hour, 5-7 PM.

Mamoun's Falafel: Sandwiches from $6.99 to $10.49, & full plates from $8.99 to $13.99.

Peppa’s Jerk Chicken: $8 lunch specials including Jerk Chicken, Stew Chicken, or Curry Chicken with rice, beans, gravy, salad, & steamed cabbage or sweet plantains.

Punjabi Grocery & Deli: Plate of 3 vegetarian options with rice is $8.50 & only $7.50 with roti. 

Govinda's Kitchen: Various vegetarian lunch options served cafeteria style. 3 dishes are ($9) or four ($10), with a soup or salad for $2 more.

B&H Dairy Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant: $8.50 Breakfast of 2 eggs, home fries, challah bread, OJ, coffee or tea.

Great NY Noodletown: Many plates with rice & a few lo mein for under $10. 

King Dumpling: Numerous types of dumplings 10 for $5 or less & a lot more under $7.

Chang Lai Fishballs Noodles: Take-out containers of rice noodles rolls with curry fish balls & more with a small priced at $5.75, & a large at $9.25. Requesting smothered in everything means a medley of soy sauce, hoisin, sesame, peanut sauce, & sriracha.

Peking Duck Sandwich Stall: $2.50 for peking duck rolls on steamed buns. 

Vanessa's Dumplings: Numerous types of dumplings & sesame pancakes for $10 or less. 

Mr Khao Man Gai: Steamed, grilled, or fried chicken over rice for $10. 

Bobwhite Counter: Numerous chicken sandwiches & chicken boxes under $10. 

Fried Dumpling: 5 fried dumplings or 4 fried pork buns for $1.25,  hot & sour soup from $1-$2, & not a lot more.

China North Dumpling: 10-12 dumplings for $3, beef noodle soup for $4.50, 2 chive pancakes for $1.50, & a lot more for $5 or less. 

Bodhi Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant: Over 50 dim sum & soup options for $7 or less, many of them vegetarian. 

Wah Fung No 1: Giant portions of roast pork, duck, or chicken with rice & cabbage for $8 or less. 

Fu Zhou Wei Zhong Wei Jia Xiang Feng Wei: 6 steamed buns (soup dumplings) for $4.50, Fuzhou Dumplings with soup for $4.50, & more. Little hard to find. 

Blue Sky Deli (Hajji’s)Sandwiches, including NYCs famous chopped cheese, from $5 to $9.

Tiki Chick: Only $5 for shrimp cocktail, sandwiches including the Hot Honey fried chicken & Spam & Cheese,  $5 Spam & Pineapple Hawaiian Chili Dogs, & doughnut breakfast sandwiches. Fancy frozen cocktails are the feature of the place. 

Oasis: $5.50 Falafel Sandwiches, $7.50 Lamb Shish Kebab Sandwiches, & more.

Roll-n-Roaster: Their classic Roll-n-Roaster Roast Beef sandwich is only $7.45.

Sun Hing Lung Co: Rice rolls from $2 to $3.25.

Fong On: The Oldest Family Run Tofu Shop in N.Y. offers savory tofu pudding from $5.50 to $11, & rice cakes from $6-$7. 

Kababish: Chicken kebabs for $3 & beef for $4, naan & roti starting at $2.50 for plain, & a lot more under $10. 

White Bear: The “No. 6, sit down” is 12 hong you wontons filled with pork & topped with chili oil for $6.50. 

Joe's Steam Rice Roll: Cantonese rice rolls from $6 to $9. 

Dumpling Man: Chairman Mao's Red Braised Sliders (2pc) for $4.95 & various dumplings 6 for $7.75 to $8.25.

A-Pou's Taste: $7 to $9 lunch specials with pot stickers & fried rice or lo-mien. 

Carol's BunDumplings & rice dishes for under $10. 

Mei Lai Wah: Roasted pork buns for $1.75 & many other bun options under $5.

Xi’an Famous Foods: Liang Pi "Cold-Skin Noodles are $8.45, & fried only $1 more. Pork burgers are $5.25, & Lamb burgers are $6.45. An order of 6 dumplings is $9.65 to $10.35.

Saigon Shack: Their SS Classic Banh Mi is $9. 

Karczma: White Borscht served in bread for $8.00, a few other Polish soups for even less, & the Karczma Spring Sandwich for $10.

Sanmiwago: 8 piece fresh fried or boiled dumplings from $8 to $11, & Shrimp Dumpling Noodle Soup for $9.75.

Super Taste: Steamed Pork & Chive Dumplings are 10 for $4.95 & there's a lot more close to $5 or less.

Bedouin Tent: Falafel sandwich for $7 & falafel plate for $10. 

Banh Mi Saigon: $6.50 to $9.50 Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches & other options under $11.

Breakfast by Salt's Cure: $10 griddle cakes with Cinnamon Molasses Butter.

A&A Bake Doubles and Roti: Easy to eat Caribbean food with multiple options under $6. 

188 Bakery Cuchifritos: A variety of Dominican and Puerto Rican food with a lot under $7. 

Patacon Pisao NYC: 3 types of meat pie's (Pastelito) for $6.50 & more.

Raffetto's: You'll need a stove or microwave but this place has amazing italian to go with 22oz of ravioli for $10 or less. They have a lot more including tortellini, bread, & sauce.

Famous Amadeus5 calzone options for $8.50 & rolls for $7.50.

Djerden Burek Bakery: Very filling phyllo dough pies (Burek) with meat, cheese, or vegetarian options for $7.25. 

Veselka: Pierogis (4 for $9) served with onions & sour cream, & latkes served with applesauce & our cream ($6 or 3.)

Tasty Hand Pulled Noodles: Some soups & dumplings for under $10.
